Patagon Digital’s part
What we contributed.
Patagon Digital began working with One More Game in May 2022, contributing animation for some of Spellcraft’s more complex creatures and characters, along with camera layout, framing, and in-engine presentation for selected trailer shots. Some animations shown in these reels were captured before their final polish pass.

Development prototypes
These early prototypes were created to explore direction, pacing, structure, and presentation before the game’s final visual, animation, audio, and UI passes.
Project story
Inside the collaboration.
The challenge
Patagon Digital began work on Spellcraft in May 2022 with longtime colleagues at One More Game. The familiarity made the collaboration feel like a reunion, but the animation challenge was substantial: the team was asked to bring unusually complex creatures to life while reflecting their detailed histories through performance.
Our involvement
Over almost a year, the team handled extensive character-animation work, moving from early creative discussions through production delivery. The scope expanded into Unity, where Patagon Digital created intros, match outros, custom trailer shots, and a prototype for the game's trailer.
That combination of character work and in-engine presentation required the team to maintain a consistent visual story across gameplay moments and marketing material while learning a new production environment.
The outcome
The collaboration came to an unexpected end when Spellcraft was cancelled in April 2023. The project nevertheless became an important production chapter and Patagon Digital's first significant opportunity to work directly in Unity.
Reflection
Working with longtime colleagues combined professional trust with the familiarity of working among friends. The animation demands and the move into in-engine camera work created continual opportunities to learn, refine the team's approach, and expand its capabilities.
Spellcraft's cancellation did not diminish the creative value of the work, the relationships strengthened through it, or the experience that carried forward into later collaboration with One More Game.
